Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued 4,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to candidates in the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) in the latest Express Entry draw. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score required was 509, a slight increase from the last CEC draw held on August 27, where the minimum score was 507.
This CEC-specific draw is the largest since the July 31 draw, which saw 5,000 candidates receive ITAs. The latest draw marks the third round of invitations in September, following two separate draws last week. One of those targeted candidates from the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), issuing 911 ITAs, and the other was a category-based selection draw for French-language proficiency, which invited 1,000 candidates.
The CEC draws are significant for candidates who have gained skilled work experience in Canada and are aiming for permanent residency through the Express Entry system.
The slight rise in CRS cut-off scores may indicate increasing competition in the CEC category as Canada continues to invite high numbers of skilled workers to contribute to its labor market and economic recovery. More draws are expected as the IRCC ramps up efforts to meet its immigration targets for 2024.
For prospective immigrants, staying updated on the CRS score trends and ensuring they maximize their points remains crucial in securing an invitation in future draws.
